      Hot start issue...FiTech

Got the valve covers apart and trying to figure out no start hot starts. Rockers are loose on some of the valves. Could this cause a no start condition when hot? Thanks in advance

Sure would help to know more about what engine you're working on...Carb? EFI? Details...

I suppose loose rockers can cause this, but my money is on the Fitech. I would fiddle around with the start-up settings. The combination of cranking pulse width and IAC position is effectively your starting AFR...

I'll check all that out. Thanks for the advice. This posting can be moved to the efi section for further advice. Thank you.

I've had it about 2 weeks run time. I figured it would be valves not properly adjusted or the ignition control module as it seems to flood out while hot.

There is a Fitech owners Facebook page that could be very helpful answering questions. I suggest you join the group and do a search on your problem.

I was looking at a page on fitechs website talking about the IAC steps. Says they're supposed to be between 3-10 steps. Looked at them last night real quick and mine are up at 225. Gonna do some more troubleshooting hopefully after i get homme today.

Well. The efi is putting so much fuel in the throttle body it's actually filling it up. Now it's the fun part. Trying to get a hold of fitech.

If the injectors are continuously dumping fuel when you turn the key (before you crank) its getting a noisy tach signal ( for some reason it wont do this if you reset the system on the first start up but every time after it will flood the motor)

. Check the RPMs on the handheld to make sure it doesn't think its running before you crank it. I had an issue with the wire 12 volt source for the distributor being wired on the wrong post on the starter (SBC). swap the wire to the other post rpms cleaned up and just got a prime shot. Another trick I use if the car is hot is to allow the fuel command center to reach pressure and turn off before I crank the engine.

also do get the IAC steps corrected this also is an important step.

      Hope this helps

Tach signal is good and clean. I'm not running a command center. Intank pump setup. It fills the throttle body while cold.

Keyed the car on tonight and noticed that only the rear two throttle body ports are filling. I did a reset to factory tune and started over. Set my parameters. Keyed it back on and the rear filled up again.

Hey, just curious if you found out what was going on. Any luck getting it fixed?
