70 Camaro LS T56 swap issue

Hey guys, been working on a 70 Camaro project for years and I finally had a chance and the parts to put the motor and trans in. The LS2 and T56 came from a 2006 GTO and I'm using a DSE sub frame and DSE LS motor mounts. I called up American Powertrain to get one of their install kits with cross member to avoid issues, guess what, ran into issues. The X-Factor cross member is no where near close to fitting. Called AP and gave them my setup, said it would work fine.

Don't know if the cause is the DSE motor mounts or the DSE sub frame... Also seems like the trans maybe way to far back. The shifter mount is actually under the floor cross member by about an inch. Anyone out there use this combo before?

Wondering if the DSE LS mounts are putting the motor to far back for what I want to do. May end up abandoning the X-Factor cross member and instead go with Holly's that bolts to the floor.

      Thanks,

      Matt from NH

^^^^ Nope the DSE subframe for the 70-81 camaro uses a first gen camaro crossmember. Give Mark Bowler @ Bowler Transmission a call. He made the one I have on my 70, should be available by now. You have to take into consideration the engine is moved back slightly and the t56 is long. Not really any crossmember accommodates this. However I'm curious about Holley's floor mounted version

I'm using all DSE components....headers, mounts etc.

Thanks! AP sent me mounting plates for their cross member for gen1 Camaro and with a little modification I was able to get things lined up and mounted.
