Art Morrison made a change in upper shock mount height and width around 3 years ago. My 67 Camaro has the low, Mary's came with the higher mounts. I think it was due to them switching to the Strange shocks.
67 Camaro RS that will be faster than anything Mary owns.

Most shocks for the front will have 4" travel. Ride Tech makes a 4.1 that's we used.
Installed height for that shock is 12.5"
      Extended Length: 14.23"
      Compressed Length: 10.3"
Ideally, you should have a little more compression travel than rebound, the bump stop takes up some of the compression travel.

If you use a longer shock on a Art Morrison sub, the coil starts getting too close to the upper A arm & in droop, the upper ball joint will probably start binding.
