What radiator are you guys running?

I am looking at possibly buying a new radiator/fan combo. What is a good purchase? Is Dewitts any good?

This is for my Chevelle. Was also curious if I could eliminate my external transcooler if the quality of the new radiator is better.

I recently picked up an Alumitech and the Flex a lite 295 fans. One of the fans if controlled by the FaL unit, the other by a Delta Current Control setup. This combination is fantastic, zero issues even in stop and go summer traffic. I've actually had to keep raising the temp at which fans come on because the engine wasn't getting warm enough, which isn't a bad problem to have. The second fan controller isn't necessary, but I already had it in the car and wanted the extra manual control while I work out my AC wiring. My use has been limited to only 500 miles or so, but it was hot, humid and in the now-terrible Nashville traffic so I feel pretty confident in recommending these things.
Got this open box at Summit https://www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-295 and the radiator here http://www.chevelles.com/classifieds...132185&cat=all

Regarding the trans cooler, you could probably ditch it but if I were running an auto I'd likely keep it just for peace of mind.

Afco in our Chevelle, never got over 200* when running an autoX during a 109* AZ day.

Put a Griffon in a truck for a friend, it was a very nice piece.

C&R racing radiator module (PWR core) with integrated oil and power steering cooler in LS swapped '67 Camaro. i really struggled with the price, but now consider it one of the best decisions for this project. In south Texas summer heat the temp never rises above thermostat set point (180'F) and fans rarely run. Plus workmanship is fantastic.

Champion CC162 absolutely love it, the quality is great for the $200 ish price and with a set of Ramchargers electric fans, the thermostat is regulating the temp at 193/195 under every condition. 90+ degree autox and drag racing.

IMHO I'd NEVER spend the money a "big name" radiator to look cool. I'd either find a local shop to make me what I'm looking for or buy a drop in overseas unit. What those big names want for a radiator, USA made or not is entirely unreasonable.

Ron Davis in a 67 and a Griffin in a 37. Both work nicely.

      Champion CC161 3-row radiator

Champion CC161 3-row with a Derale shroud & dual 13" Spal fans. Through a convoluted series of events, I wound up with an extra CC161 radiator that I would like to sell. I can send you some more pics if you decide to go that direction - see pic below.

I went with the Ron Davis only because I needed to add a P/S cooler. I started with a PRC unit which was a nice unit and it also kept the car cool but on my first venture onto the track my P/S fluid over heated.....the Ron Davis offered an internal Oil & P/S cooler so I jumped on that...... two track days with the Ron Davis in 90+ weather and it never got near "hot"....I'm extremely happy with the radiator so far.

CG&J in Alabama made me a 100% aluminum custom 3 row dual pass radiator for about $650 delivered in around a week. Had my fabricator add on the Ford Taurus 4000cfm e-fan. Up front is the a/c condenser and a heat exchanger for my A/W intercooler.
