      4l80 questions

I picked up a 08 4l80 core a few months back for my chevelle. I plan to put it behind a 03 5.3 and have read that the 08 trans will not work correctly with the 03 pcm. Is this true? If so when I have the trans rebuilt can it be changed to work with the older pcm or do I need to be looking for a different year trans?

      Thanks

      Brad,
If your 5.3 had the 4L60 originally you will want to get ahold of Speartech. They should be able to flash your PCM to work with the 4L80 and get you the adapter harness so that your 4L80 will plug in correctly. From there you can always get someone that has a HP Tuners set up to adjust shiftpoints if need be. The other solution would be to go with a stand alone TCM to operate your transmission, if you got a Compushift for example, you would have the ability to do all the shift tuning through that unit yourself. Those typically sell for $950.00 as a comparison.
