      Houston Area 4L80E builders?

Are there any recommended shops in Houston that will do a solid rebuild and HD2 kit in a 4L80E?

I sent Craig an email to price Bowler as well but I'd like to explore all of my options. I don't need anything crazy so I'm not trying to spend $5k on a transmission.

      Thanks in advance!

ETA: OK just checked bowler website. I am definitely not spending $7200 on a transmission. So looks like local shop is the way to go. Any help is greatly appreciated.

On his website it looks like it'd be another $5k transmission. Really trying to spend $2500 or less.

I asked Bowler about seeing just kits on his website and he said something along the line of a "stockish" build w/TC would be ~$4.8k - still too high for me.

If you wait until black Friday Jakes performance has a pretty hefty sale. You can pick up a built transmission for a fair price and built professionally.

But once you have the transmission you'll need the controller, converter etc so it'll add up fast.

Anyone used Extreme Automatics? Their Stage I is $2195. Haven't heard much about them.

No reason why you cannot have a local shop build you a nice 4L80 or 85E for a couple grand. This would include upgraded clutches and shift kit. Depending on converter selected, would be additional.

Transbuilderguy... Just Google the name. I purchased a 4l80e from him and he is good to deal with. It's going behind a BBC 496. He also uses parts sourced from Jakes Performance IIRC.
