      4" single exhaust pumbing

      Hey guys,

I will be running an inline 250 6 cylinder engine that is turbocharged.

I would like to get some ideas on how I can run a single 4" exhaust pipe on the drivers side.

      Pics, or drawings? Anyone?

I have a Chris Alston G-link 4 link suspension, and I don't think 4" up and over the axle is possible.

      Maybe have a side exit?

      At a loss for now.

      Thx.

4"? on a 250? A lot of overkill, don't you think? 2 1/2" would be plenty and a whole lot easier to run. Don't know what you are really trying to do so I am asking the question.

Plumbing (SP) Yep 4", here is my downpipe

Single 4" exhaust is what I plan on routing somehow.

      Here is the mock-up engine.

Looks nice bud. You are pretty much going to have to fab that exhaust up on your own. Buy some bends on eBay and see if you can get them to fit. Not going to be an easy task if there is any lowering involved with that G-Link install.

Oval tubing may make the routing a little easier. The 4" equivalent would be 2.75" x 4.375" or you could split the exhaust into two pipes.

      Thx,
I am thinking of running oval tubing but it's kinda hard to find vertical mandrel bends.
      Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/380904971581...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Anybody know who bends 90 degree ones, or maybe it is not possible?

Why not split it into two three inch and run dual exhaust over the axle?

I have to agree with some of the above posts, 4" is overkill. Hell I'm running 4" exhaust on my Duramax turbo diesel and these trucks come stock with a 3.5" exhaust. You could easily get by with 3" for your application.

But if you insist on 4" check out Spintech they sell oval tubing with both horizontal and vertical mandrel bends.

Interesting side note, Spintech also sells 80% AR15 lowers. See the "80% Lower Receiver" link toward the bottom of the link list.

      Thx for the help guys.

I am trying to get the most HP out of my little six, that is the reason for the single 4'"exhaust.

Here is the better cyl head I will eventually switch over to.

Also here is the intake manifold I made for the cyl head.

You need to do some research on exhaust flow. Going too big can hurt performance as well as improve it. In reality you need to pay more attention to the primary and secondary pipes then you do the tail pipes. That is where you can make more or less power. The pipe after the muffler is there to simply exit the spent gasses and, as long as the pipe will flow enough CFM for your Cubic Inches, will do the job well. A 2 1/2 or 3" pipe will work just fine for your turbocharged 6.

By the way, your intake is beautiful!
