Any BUICK GS/Skylark Pro Touring Builds on here

      Hey guys..
I was wondering if there are any guys with Buick ABodys here ?
yes there is the Buick Forum and there is great info/help but not really any PRO TOURING builds.

      I got a 68 BUICK GS and restored/rebuilt a lot already.
Since it had a BS paintjob i decided to get it done right and so i striped it down did the bodywork and sent it of to a reliable painter.

regarding my protouring ideas i always look into Chevelles of course, since we share the same platform
but real Buick inspiration would be great.

here is my Build thread on V8Buick:
      http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.ph...a-build-thread

      my next plans after painting
-Puttin it back together of course,
-update the front suspension with a new sway bar and maybe new shocks ... probably Billstein (got BMRsprings 2" already)
      - putting the Vinyl top back on (YES pro touring with Vinyl look..lol)
      - working on sealing the Floor boards (brush on)
      - putting the 05' GTO interior in + panels and headliner

Then the BIG WHEEL CHOICE, since there are not many 68' around with PT style i have to probably test different styles to find the right fit

later on (if the $$ is back in order) i would like to build the CHEVY BB i have (496 build)
looking for 600-650 HP + possible Bottle
even though i got a LS (LM7) i can pull from my truck , i still prefer the OLD IRON HORSE as of right now even though LS is tempting.

CAR is a weekend driver .. far from daily so i dont mind MPG.

I can't recall any other 68 Buick builds, but I know ridetech has a 70 as part of their fleet.

Not full pro-touring in that the suspension was mostly stock, but this is a 68 GS350 of my dad's that we restored a couple years back.

I like your plan minus the gto interior. I don't mind the front buckets but I like the buick dash and I think gto rear seats look terrible. also the 496 bbc. if im going to spend the money for that I would get a bbb or a ls platform. stage 1 buick engine is much lighter and can make the same numbers.

I don't remember where I stole this picture from but when I was looking for some wheel combo ideas I found this pic and thought it was pretty bad ass.

I run a full ridetech setup and it is awesome. Handles like it is on rails. I used kore3 billet hubs with c5 calipers at all four courners with gm drilled rotors, narrowed 9" with locker. Your MAIN question is what are you going to do with the car , how much money do you have to spend and than build it to your needs. Their is a ton of info for your cars chassis, 64-72 gm "A"Body is everywhere. Body mods is all up to you with what style you want. I went with a 401 nailhead and built a complete turbo setup and had a lot of one of parts made to make it the way I wanted. buick 350 has a lot of aftermarket support from TA and others. Spend the money on a rendering and goodluck. I have been a member on v8buick for 14 years and their is a ton of gd people their. good luck with you build and if you have any question feel free to ask
