Andrew, think of the Target Dog and Spuds Mackenzie.
I have had quite a few Bull Terriers over the years.
Super smart but stubborn, Jesters with razors for teeth. I wouldnt think twice about getting another.The rule is measure twice and cut once. My problem is I still measure with a mic and cut with an axe!

They were more popular in the 70's and 80's with The Target dog, Spuds Mackenzie, and the dog on Ba Ba Blacksheep Squadron, but I haven't seen a lot of them in years .
Oh yeah and Patton, the movie , had one in it ..

There's a select following for them, but not necessarily popular. One is certainly in the "odd breed" category when you have one. Trust me, I know first hand.

Over here they are not as popular as pitbulls(which are illegal but loads of em) and staffys but you are seeing more nowadays...
