      LT1 L83 with T56

      Hello,

I recently came across a 2015 L83 5.3L Gen V LT1 engine for cheap and was wondering what it would take to put a T56 Magnum behind it. Presently, i am looking at bellhousing, clutch, salve and MC options.

The engine is going to be transplanted into a second gen camaro. So i looked up chevy performance and they sell a kit (19329912) which is supposed to fit LS/LT1 engines. Some part numbers for the interested...

19329620 Super Magnum Bell Housing Kit
      19329635 Kit, Clutch/Pressure Plate w/Flywheel

Since, I am on a budget, I was wondering if the bellhousing from LSA
TR6060, the clutch and slave will be a direct bolt into a LT1? So what options do i have ? CTSV bellhousing ????/ The LSA and LT1s are 8 bolt cranks. Please chime in.....

      Thanks

The LS based bell housings will work with the new LT series motors and there are several options for clutches available with the 8 bolt crank flange. Tremec also makes an aluminum bell housing for under $300 if you're interested in keeping the cost down.

      1978LT1,

That sounds like an awesome set-up for a Gen 2 Camaro!

Those install and clutch kits you are referencing will work great but are quite expensive compared to other options out there. ~$3k in parts Not including the Transmission and a other required parts.

Since I see you are on a budget, you may want to look into one of our Elite kits for your early Camaro. They start at just a little over $2k without the transmission, depending on your LT1's power. What kind of Torque and Horsepower are you shooting for?

Just to give you an idea our Elite kits include:

      T56 Magnum (.50 or .63 Overdrive Options)
      Bellhousing or Scatter-Shield
      SFI Approved Flywheel
Clutch Kit(Luk, RAM, and Mcleod available)
Hydraulic Clutch Kit for 70-81 Camaro
      Cross Member for 75-81 Camaro
Blackjack Shifter(needed for consoles cars only)
1330 or 1350 Slip yoke to adapt driveshaft (depending on power)
      Roller Pilot Bearing
      White Hurst 6-spd Knob
      Chrome Shifter Stick 69-81 Camaro
Speedo Cable, Adaptor and Speedo Gear(push-on style)
      Poly Urethane Trans Mount
      Reverse Lock Out Solenoid Pigtail
      Reverse Light Pigtail
      Kit Install Instructions
      All Install hardware needed

An order like this would qualify for free freight shipping in the Lower 48 states. And to give you some peace of mine, we offer a 30 Month Warranty from the date of purchase on these kits.

I can always build a conversion kit specific to your application. Let me know if you have any other specific questions on your conversion! We are here to help.
