polyurethane leaf spring bushing? ford ranger.

Looking to make my 83 ranger handle the best it can with the stock style rear suspension.
Was wondering if upgrading the leaf spring bushings and shackle bushings to polyurethane would help?
I really know nothing about leaf spring suspensions.

I have read a little about them and heard some guys mention leave the front bushings rubber and make the rear bushings polyurethane , don't know if thats kind of a the way to go or all poly including shackle, etc.
      Any input would help.
Here is a pic of how the ranger suspension looks. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fr/full.aspx?Page=41
