      69 Camaro Project Ground Zero

After several pro street and blower cars I figured it was time to have a car that I can drive everyday. Looked around for a 69 Camaro and realized that everything out there is over priced. Decided to just look for a roller that someone else got a start on and couldn't finish. Instead I ran across a shell that was mostly solid except for minor window rust and some floor pitting. The sale list had a bunch of extra parts that "were included" but in my haste I never double checked and just got excited at the prospect of starting a new project. Live and learn. Car had just received a set of DSE mini tubs and thats pretty much it. Probably still paid too much but decided to jump in as I was getting tired of cruising the ads for overpriced rust buckets. So I got my "shell" home and all my neighbors pretty much laughed and asked what kind of car it was.

      • So far the plan is a GM LS3 or maybe a Mast motorsports build The jury is still out on that decision $$$

      • Rushforth wheels 18x9 and 19x12 already ordered

AMD dash replacement after media blast. Got the rust cut out where the cowl box and windshield area come together. Passenger floor had rust pits too. Nothing major at all.

Progress is slow but managed to make some patch repair rathers than replace huge sections. Also got the subframe connectors in as well as more trans tunnel clearance for the new gearbox. Still waiting on Rushforth wheels to arrive so that I can get my measurements for the rear end. Jason Rushforth please expedite my shipment!!!!

Thanks! Trying to stay motivated myself. Everytime I go out in the garage I ask myself if I bit off too much. Then I just concentrate on one thing and try to get through it. Got some firewall body work as well as floor pan body work. Been using RAGE body filler nice stuff!

Ordered the Clayton Machine clutch, brake and drive by wire pedal... Now just to figure out the proper angle for the McLeod hydraulic clutch. I think Ill be making a bracket of some sort. And a pic of some firewall work.... Watching the progress and mad skills that some of the builds on here have is amazing. Keep redoing stuff in an attempt to make it "acceptable"

San Juan media blast near Hollister CA... This guy hits every tight corner inside and out! Couldn't be happier with the epoxy coverage.

Made some channels for the rust along the rear window. Welding along that body edge was a bit nerving. Also managed to save a door skin with a little more patch work. Cant complain my rust issues are nothing compared to some other cars Ive been watching

Great progress! Some progress, even minor, is better than none at all. Keep up the great work!

Little more minor progress today.... Looks so cool to just see big rubber in the wheel wells. Getting a little better at my patch work with the MIG. Glad its not a rust bucket. Also put some front sheet metal on for a quick test fit. I was pleasantly surprised that it looked pretty good but will still need extensive massaging to eventually get decent gaps. Thank you AMD! Now off to order a bunch more parts.
