U-Joint Doesn't Go In All The Way

I'm trying to install my new u-joint onto my steering box but it won't go in all the way. It's the correct size and splines and goes in about a 1/4" or so but no more. I haven't found any burrs or other issues on the steering box or u-joint. Any ideas?

      What brand?

I had an issue once fitting a Flaming River 1" 48 spline column.. The Flaming River brand fit, but the Borgeson did not. I know the double U joints are a bit pricey but may think about trying another brand, just a thought!

Certain you have it "timed" right? There is one area that has a spline missing, or what another might call a wide spline.
