Moabs car was this last weekend and while I love having the car out for it all I could think about is how ready I am for a change...
I decided to take a couple photos of it with all four on the ground before I strip it down because it's going to be awhile before the tire hits the road again!
That would be hard for me to do with a car looking that good!

It is a little odd feeling taking it all back apart! I have put a lot of work into this car and it's kind of weird to not have it drivable again! Just more motivation to not draw out the build

Making more progress on my build, seems like I haven't had much time to put towards it recently but I started mocking up the new TCI Engineering ProTour clip today which feels pretty good! I won't send it to powder coating until it's ready for final assembly Name: IMG_2872.jpg

I finally figured out why I have had tire fitment issues on the driver side.

It appears that the car was hit at one point and time right on the corner of the tub... good news is the frame is still straight but the bad news is I'll be back to body work which I wanted to keep to a minimum!

Guess I wasn't as thorough as a 12 yr old when I started building it.

You can see in the picture where the body is creased.Name: IMG_2874.jpg

I love taking pics of it with the red rocks! Check out my Instagram page @modernchevyperformance to see more pics! Your going to have to bring your Malibu down to Moab's car show when it's finished and we can go get some pictures!

Slow to post... but I have made some progress so I wanted to put some more pics up
I took some time and worked out the crease to the point everything is straight and good to go ??
Next I got the new TCI Engineering front clip bolted up for mock up and I will say it was as straight forward as you could ask for! Everything lined up and was a breeze to install...Name: IMG_2999.JPG

Size: 252.1 KBBody panels are going back on! The gaps are all over the place though so I will be spending a lot time getting it all dialed in...
Then I will get either the LS mocked up or put the sbc for the weight and start body working the whole car😎

After about 10lbs of undercoating was removed I have the firewall down to metal! Now I am just trying to decide if I want to shave the heater motor hole and install a aftermarket unit or keep it the way it is...Name: IMG_0239.jpg

Sweet Ride! I like the 66, 67 body style the best. The heater isn't that intrusive, they package it well. It'll look good either way.

No it's really not that bad... mostly it would be sweet to have AC during the hot desert summers here in Southern Utah

This is coming along very nicely. I am at the other end of the state. Definitely will be keeping an eye on this build. Love the 62-65 and the 66-67 bodies. My dad had a similarly colored 64 when I was growing up and made some neat memories working on that car.

When I was a kid looking for my cars if it had A/C it was out of contention, now I won't even go look at it without it, I'm hoping it's because I'm smarter now lol Looking good.

They are the Wilwood 12" rotors, the next size up takes you to a 6 piston caliper... it was a bit out of my budget $$$ but they are sweet!

I think it has something to do with age lol... I started building this car when I was twelve and at the time I could care less about AC, now however being in my 30's and having my own little one I want to be comfortable in it! The aftermarket systems are also a lot more affordable now too
