Anyone with Big Block heater core in 67-69 Camaro.. LOOK HERE!!!

I need help and I'm hoping someone can take 2 minutes to help!! I'm putting a big block heater core in my 68 Camaro and need measurements on where to cut the holes for the heater pipes to come through the heater cover on the firewall... If someone could measure there's and let me know this would help me a bunch!!!

I converted from SB to BB heater core but the car is not here at the moment. However, it was not hard to locate the holes in the SB heater box cover. Have you purchased the BB heater core, two hole heater core tube seal and metal retainer? I think the retainer is Classic Industries PN T54315. The retainer fits on the heater box housing in only one position and once you locate it you can use it as a guide to drill the attaching screw holes then the core tube holes. I used a 1" step drill bit to make the tube holes in the heater box. It really was not difficult to do.

Yes I do have the seal, retainer and the core.. I just checked and your right. Just a quick fit but it still Seems like I can move it alittle one way or another and it still fits good... If someone could measure I could just make sure I'm in the right spot... Any tips on the conversion would be great!!

Yes the retainer can move a little but if you center it in the movement range, then make the two heater tube holes 1" you will have all the room for the heater core you need. Trust me it is not difficult. I just don't have the car here at the moment to get measurements.

So you just keep the same engine side cover from the SB to BB, and just drill holes?

Doing an LS swap, and figured this may help me be able to set the engine back towards the firewall a bit.
