      FiTech Systems

Anyone have any reviews on the FiTech systems? I'm currently running a 351W with a Might Demon 750 and Paxton Novi 1200 Supercharger but want to make the change to fuel injection. Thanks in advance.

I have used a few of them. An old employee of ours, Mike Sullivan, is one their lead tech's, and he is available for tuning. I have put one on Tina's mustang, and one on our Roach test car Camaro. Both have improved performance and drivability. Tuning is super easy. We have the base unit - good to 600 hp N.A. - for $989.00. If you need a pump assembly, they have a nice "Pressure pot" assembly, with a pump, regulator, feed and return for appx $325, this can be fed from the OE tank and single 5/16 line if you still have the OE set up. We have tanks for 1rst and 2nd gen Camaro and early Mustang.

Iv'e got a thread on FiTech going on the old PY Pontiac forum that's around 200 posts in. I think 4 or 5 guys have bought since the post started. One guy dyno'd his LS based build with it. Others are pretty impressed. Its worth the read.

      A somewhat different view: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showth...61#post3284361

I haven't read much negative on this setup. But i want to see some one run one for four years and 30,000 miles.

My dad and I are very seriously considering buying one of these for our Chevelle. I like that they have a boost capable unit for our eventual turbos and the timing control sounds like a good thing.

I was considering upgrading my FAST EZ-EFI 1.0 to the newer style display, to pick up a few tuning options. That upgrade is $300.

I may just get this and sell the EZ-EFI..! Then I would have timing control too!

The price seems very friendly for a fully functional, easy to install throttle body EFI plus spark box. I realize low volume and standards for appearance change the cost structure, but the price the other guys want for technology that's been on every new car for 30 years is insane.

If the FITech system takes off at this price point, it may well force the big name manufacturers to reduce the price of their systems.

I wonder if having the ECU built into the throttle body will cause any long term reliability issues.

We are always told to mount delicate electronics away from heat and vibrations, the throttle body sees both.

...And like clockwork, HOLLEY has announced that they have "brought EFI within range", AKA made it affordable, with their new "Sniper EFI" system. Past tense.

Funny thing is, its not available for another 5 months. Future tense.

And upon comparing it to their own two thousand dollar set up, the Terminator EFI, you can't find any material differences in the performance features. both self tuning, both easy hook ups, both internal electronic components.

So basically, FITech has forced Holley to change their game up. If FITech could do it for 1k, think of how much profit Holley has been making off of each Terminator kit each time.

Thank you FiTech!!! I will not be falling for Holley's tricks - my money is going with you!

With comparable pricing, service/support is another key decision factor.

FiTech sells direct while Holley has a complicated distribution strategy. Perhaps you should be calling out FiTech on "think of how much profit" they are making by selling direct (as if making a profit is somehow evil...).

You don't know the Holley terminator very well to say there are no differences... remember the ecu is the same as a HP once you hook the laptop up to it.
What is wrong with profit, does all this r+d come for free?

Exactly. Once people realize what the HP ECU is capable of, they also realize they're getting a lot more for their money!
