      69 Chevelle Spoiler

      Hello,

My dad and I were browsing the internet and came across a 1970 Chevelle with a spoiler on it, and it got us wondering if one would look good on our car. We mocked one up with some poster board and tape, I wanted to see what people thought of the idea. I've never seen a 69 with a rear spoiler before. Just FYI, we are planing on building a chin spoiler for the front as well.

Let me know what you guys think!

I like everything, and I would do it, but don't understand the two lips? If its a cosmetic thing, fine, I'm more of the form follows function group. Also, the basis of a true spoiler does not require a gradual uphill slope on the front side of the spoiler to be aero effective, actually that slightly counters the effect. Regardless, you have to be happy, and looking good seldom hurts, much.

The two lips on the top happened by chance. My dad built one half of the spoiler and I built the other, if you look at the ends of the spoiler they don't match haha. I decided mine was too short so I added a piece onto the top on my side, but it wasn't long enough to do the entire half of the spoiler. Then we ended up thinking it looked good so we cut the other side to match and this is what we ended up with. I think it fits the pro-touring theme without looking ridiculous haha.

If I wanted to I could do the calculations to optimize the spoiler for down force, but that's a lot of work for something that won't affect the car much. We're mostly doing this for cosmetics and to make the car unique.

      Thanks!

I think it looks really cool, it kind of looks like the style of the C7 Z06 spoiler, as far as effectiveness goes I don't think it really matters unless you are going to be driving around a track at really fast speeds, so I would go for whichever one looks better as the difference in downforce would be minimal anyways haha.

Its a little similar to the Pontiac Ducktail, but with a PT twist....
