      bonjour de la france

hello, my name is Patrick ,
      I'm 37 , I live in Cap d' Agde,
a small town in southern France on the French Riviera

I love sports cars and big block us
I practice in amateur racing with a honda civic ed7(EUROPEAN EF9 with the ZC engine 1.6 16V dohc 130hp)
the Civic is prepared 170hp and style is inspired kanjo Osaka
I have to project to get into the touring pro , I still looking for the model (I have a preferance for chevrolet nova 1970)
I have come to Los Angeles in February to see my family who live in Burbank and I 'll take the opportunity to find and bring a car to France
then if all goes well and that my project pro touring works , I think up my company, imported car in France to prepare us in the pro touring, it does not exist at home,
I 'll be the first but before that I must do my project
So that is why I am here to see the different project also learn because I manages mechanics but I do not know any aftermarket parts and the system that exists ( suspensions, swap engine , steering, brake) so I 'm here to discover and learn what is on us carsorry for my english, i try to speak very well

      thanks for reading

      Cool another European!
How hard is it to get cars brought into France from the US?

no, it is not hard but it is very expensive , Container transportation by sea and once in France trucking from north west to south is also expensive and customs payable on arrival in France in Port Harbour
the French state does not promote import , so it is quite expensive, thus bringing in a Container , it must be filled to max.
Passion does everything, we forget the price and it is thought that future pleasure

HI everybody, i'm sorry, i did not connect from 1 year ago.

I have not had time, I am created my business (the first pro touring/restomod garage in france).

it takes a lot of time and money (especially in France), or my absence.

if all goes well, I should start in march 2017.

otherwise I have a question, I come to LA and Vegas from October to November, 1 month, and I would like to know the places and days or gather the fans of muscle, hot rods and pro touring course.

MERCI A TOUS (thank you all)

      Bonjour Patrick,
Here are some event calendars for those areas; you picked great destinations, Vegas and California have tons of car culture.

Here are some for Las Vegas:
Cars & Coffee is usually local car groups collectively organizing cruise-ins, usually a wide variety of: restorations, customs, rat-rods, 4x4 trucks, mustangs, corvette, impala, and a few other clubs are always present. In other cruise-ins local to me we often have 200+ cars on Friday nights, occasionally some rare collector cars and/or exotics show up, specially when the weather is ideal.

      Tons more events:

Some great reading material for the library:

Patrick if you are planning to open a PT shop in France you need to make arrangements to attend SEMA in LasVegas November 1-4.
