      Anyone recognize this fitting?

This is from the bottom of a Billet Specialties catch can. I was wanting to convert it to an AN fitting rather than a barb. It is the other end that is causing me the issues, though. I've never seen a fitting like this, with the small nipple and an o-ring around it. All Billet Specialties has been able to tell me is that the threads are 7/16 x 20, or maybe they're 3/8 x 24, and that the fitting is commonly used for carburetors or fuel pumps.

The only thing that I've found that looks even remotely related are Metric fuel injection adapters, but even the smallest one I ordered (14mm) was larger than what's used here.

So, does anyone know what this is but more importantly, does anyone know if someone makes an adapter to convert to AN? Thanks for your time.

I think you can push a 1/4 pipe tap through the catch can and then buy adapters as needed.

I think Mike nailed it. Take the fitting into a good auto parts store and have them match it up to their power steering fittings. Probably the same as a GM high pressure fitting on the pump or steering gear.

Thanks, Mike, I think that you've got me pointing in the right direction; at least now I can find fittings that look like what I need with SAE thread sizes associated with them. Even Billet Specialties themselves sells these, but none of the sizes of the 4 fittings listed in their p/n 77901 match what the tech support guy is telling me are the threads on this part.... I've e-mailed him again to see if he can verify that none of those fittings are the same. And I'll see if I can figure out what the threads are on my part independently, since I'm not completely confident in what I'm hearing back from Billet. Thanks again, appreciate the help!

Missed your response while I was typing mine. :-) Thanks, and thank you, Donny, while I believe that your solution is reasonable, I would rather not have to tap stuff out if I don't have to....

Just get a 1/4 npt tap and bit at lowes for $9 and drill and tap the catch can. That is what i did to my ring brothers clutch reservoir and converted it to a 1/4"npt to -6an. total cost was $15 and matched all my other pipe fittings in my car
