A little sick to my stomach

I bought my Griffin rad a few years ago before they had the fan kit with it and they were a little more expensive then they are today. I never ran it and went about doing the body and paint and getting everything else put together. I've been waiting years to drive this car. I drove it one summer 12 years ago other wise not since I was 18 - 22 years ago. So I get the thing certified for the road today, put on the sticker, take it out tonight with the top down, pull into my garage and my rad is leaking on a front seam. Engine was a 195 and all I did was go about 2 miles. I figure my rad is venting I may as well too. I emailed Griffin. I will let you know how they respond.

Guy from Griffin said it was a no go - too long since I bought it despite that it had about 2 miles on it. They would fix it for free if I shipped it to them but that would cost more than the radiator I suspect. I did a search and it seems that quite a few of them leak on the front seam just like mine. If they don't have to replace them why would they bother making sure their radiators didn't leak. I'm sure there's a hundred guys with no leaks but there are plenty with them. Ah well, I got what I paid for.
If you are from Ontario and know someone who fixes aluminum rad in the Stratford or London area please let me know.

You know Canadian Tire. I'm sure they have something but it sucks that it would leak the first time it was used. I'll see what I can find. Thanks

I haven't found Alumaseal here but I haven't hit up Canadian Tire yet. I go to a local parts store. I looked on some of my Jeep boards and it turns out they use JB weld. I'm going to try Permatex and if it doesn't hold there's a place about an hour away that fabs race and industrial radiators. It seems as though there are a lot of their rads that leak in the same spot. It isn't the end of the world it just upsets me that a company can sell so many rads and must know they have a problem. Thanks guys.

I got my rad repaired and sent Griffin my pics. They cut me a deal on a fan shroud to make up for it. The customer support guy was at least attentive so I appreciate that but next time I will inspect a rad before I put it in. Lesson learned.
