fuel help not surat is going on

put a new bbc 496 in my car it has a new 950cfm and a new mechanical pump 170 gph and stock lines .the problem i have now i have never seen with the old 427bbc i had .it seems to build a ton of pressure in the gas tank when i open the gas cap the pressure blows out at out very hard .some times when running the car it will hit a wall at about 3200 rpm if i let out of it and get back into it she runs ok .seems to happen more the hotter it gets outside .yes i have a vented gas cap but it lets air in not out .not sure why it is building pressure in the gas tank.any advice you could give me would be great .i feel sure it is a fuel problem just not sure what i am doing wrong.

Is it possible you have a fuel line pinched or kinked somewhere?

Do you have the correct gas cap for a 69? From the way this reads yours is only venting one way.

My 65 Falcon has a vented gas cap and a vent tube from the top of the tank that vents near the frame rail.
