1986 Elcamino -T56 Magnum 6 speed- time to order parts

1986 Elcamino -T56 Magnum 6 speed- time to order parts

      1. I have my LS3 480/hp crate engine, now I need to order my 6 speed. I have been looking at a few companies, Pace & D&D. I plan to order the Magnum 6 speed, with a RAM 12" Power Grip Clutch-with the stock bell housing. I might also order the Master Cly. kit(works with G body). What do you guys think any other parts or kit I need to look at??

      Thanks RW

I suggest this, http://www.sickspeedmonte.com/Clutch.html . I've used this on the Monte and El Camino with a Tick master for an F body.

The bracket will produce the proper geometry for the Master cylinder. Silky smooth with zero binding.

One is bolt in and proven to work, the other has to be cobbled together...

This piece bolts the master in the same place as on a F body without modifing the firewall to get the same pedal mounting location, geometry, and feel. You have f body pedals that will need to be mocked and redesigned to fit a g body. The included clutch pedal is a simple install onto the existing G body piece. Trust me, this piece will save you a bunch of headaches. It is proven to work.

Same pedal setup with the included pedal in the kit, but the included pedal is designed for a hydrolic master, not a mechanical linkage. Question is, how are you mounting your clutch master cylinder? I have zero skin in this but you ask for some parts that work. This works.

No need for a 12" clutch, 11" will be just fine. Better yet, look at the DYAD double disk clutch. Keep in mind that the larger the diameter the more inertia you have to deal with.
