Midwest Musclecar Challenge 2015 - New Date

6th Annual Bowler Performance / Royal Purple Midwest Musclecar Challenge

      New Dates Announced

Bowler knows when it comes to events that there are many to choose from and they appreciate your time to consider them. The Midwest Musclecar Challenge is quickly becoming the most popular Pro-Touring event in the Midwest. This event is open to any domestic model year vehicles. The event will be held May 29th & 30th 2015. The event will be held at Putnam Raceway Park. The course is one of the best in the country; the 1.78 mile road course has 10 tire screeching turns laid out on beautiful landscape in Putnam, Indiana. The track is located 35 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a three segment event which includes the Hot Lap Challenge, autocross challenge and a cruise. The focus of this event is education. The event will have instructors, course tips and ride along opportunities. We will help educate you about safety, your vehicle, handling tips and promise you will walk away from this event with much value for this growing industry. We will still have timed sessions and a competition segment, but we want participants to get the most for their money, have fun and be able to handle their vehicle in a race environment, understand safety and become a better driver on a course. We do not operate this event for profit; this is an event that gives back. Our focus is to provide a safe and educational event for the Pro-Touring car enthusiast.

The high horsepower fun will begin on Friday with Hot Lap Challenge. Putnam Park Road Course is a 1.78-mile, 10-turn, highly technical facility. A full day on the road course assures everyone plenty of track time and there will be instruction available for novices or those that want to improve their existing skills. 10/10ths Motorsport will be providing instructors for the Putnam Park Road course.

Saturday the action will continue at the Terre Haute, IN Airport, with a large Autocross Challenge, with more than 5 acres of great pavement we are able to setup a one of a kind autocross that will be fun and challenging at the same time.

Registration for the event will open January 1st, 2015 and will be limited to the first 70 entries. Entry fee is $300 before April 1st and will be $350 after April 1st or the day of the event. Entry includes one vehicle entry, one driver pass and one buddy pass along with two meal tickets and one ticket for the prize drawings. There is no limit to the vehicle years, but sorry we limiting it to production domestic vehicles. No imports or exotics are allowed to compete, but are welcome to be exhibition vehicles if desired, the entry fee will remain the same.

Go to www.orangeconeracing.com to register online. Entry includes one vehicle and driver for each event. Spectators are welcome and free! Go To www.midwestmusclecarchallenge.com

Vehicles competing must run only 200 tread wear rated tires or higher. Vehicles must be street legal, licensed, insured, have seat belts as well as pass a safety inspection. * Convertibles must have a roll cage or roll bar to run at the event. For other rules and regulations go to http://putnampark.com/wp/index.php/t...k-2/inforules/

Proceeds will be given to the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center, to help support the local community. We have been fortunate enough due to the sponsors and participants such as you to raise over $5000 for this great organization through this event.

Well, we will be working on Sam's Chevelle, but I was really thinking that Sam and I might double register our 66.

Midwest Musclecar Challenge was my 1st auto race (2010). Mark and Jesse Bowler throw the best event I have ever been to. It's the one that all other events I attend are judged by. I had the best instruction that a newb could understand, and they had me up to speed ( my fault ) pretty fast on the road course. The Putnam Park track is safe with out being too easy, yet it remains challenging to this day. There are always lines to clean up! ;) And the new autox venue in Terra Haute is muscle car BIG with great traction on the concrete surface. It makes you feel like you're a spert autoxer... until you hit that cone! lol Beginners are very welcome, and may become suspicious of all the overly friendly people. No worries dudes!

Am I seeing this wrong or is this the same weekend as the Heidts Challenge? I had a ton of fun at MMC last year but I would hate to miss Heidts.

From what I understand, the Heidts event at Autobahn Country Club isn't happening this year.

My guess would be that they expect/need a better turnout to make it cost effective. According to posted results, there were 39 entries on the North Course (Saturday) and 29 entires on South Course (Sunday). There were 24 autocross entries and 9 in the speed-stop. On Saturday, there were 135 show car.

Is double registering allowed? I hope so as Momma & I only have 1 play toy! ;) Rule # 5 states the car must be operated by the registered owner only? :(

Two driver cars are allowed and you will need to register twice to do so. I'm in the same boat as you.

      Thanks Donny.

Probably a moot point for us as I doubt we'll have a rollbar in by then, Momma says A/C comes first!! ;)

Where is the host hotel? Is it in Terre Haute, Cloverdale, or somewhere else?

      Thanks,

Guys, Sorry for the delay on the Host Hotel. I need some input from everyone. We have the host hotel for Thursday night at the Super 8 in Cloverdale, IN. We were going to move the host hotel to Terre Haute on Friday night. We are going this weekend to review the options and make a decision. What would everyone like to see? Stay in Cloverdale both nights or more to Terre Haute Friday night? It is about 30 miles to the Terre Haute Airport from Cloverdale. We are trying to make it as convenient for the participants as possible.

Thanks for your input and for all of the support on this event!

      Mark

I am good with staying at the Super 8. There is lots of parking. If we move that may be an issue.
