      Octane Boost?

      Forum Members

Would like to get some suggestions on the best octane boost available.

I'm in CA and our pump best is 91 octane.

      Thanks

I use Lucas octane booster form any of your chains like Oreilly's and NAPA. I live in Cali too and it gets expensive putting octane booster in every tank. I think I'm going to take some timing out to run 91 octane. The website says it's for motorcycles but in the stores the bottle doesn't specifically say it's for this or that, just gasoline engines. Here's a link : http://lucasoil.com/products/fuel-tr...octane-booster

Lucas Motorcycle Octane Booster - A Real Octane Booster! Tested and proven to deliver three times more boost than most other brands. It's safe for turbos, oxygen sensors and catalytic converters. Stops knocks, and raises MPG in high compression engines.

One 15 oz. bottle treats up to 25 gallons of fuel. Not street legal.

      Best Octane Boost

I used to work at autozone and oreillys.. Best one that I read the label on was NOS brand. Some say "raises your octane by 10 points!!" Then in the fine print "1 point = .1 octane level" .. Literally .. lol.

      Best Octane Boost

Any thoughts on Royal Purple Octane Boost?

Or just Royal Purple products in general?

I hear one side that octane boost is a gimmick vs the other stating they've seen performance increases with them.

I am running fuel injection so I assume the cpu will adjust according to the fuel type. Is octane boost like crack? Once you start you can't stop?

Mix race gas with pump gas, no little bottle of jiz is going to substantially improve any quantity of gas.
Off the shelf boosters are 100% snake oil.

Pick a leaded or unleaded race fuel to mix.

Also find a station that sells a lot of premium, since most premium pump gas is stale due to lack of sales.

Unfortunately race gas is not convenient to where I live. By the time I got to the closest 100 octane station, I would have to fill up, and would be empty by the time I got home.

I'd seriously think about ordering a drum and have it on hand in the garage. It's not as bad as what you may think cost wise.

Torco or Octane Supreme have been proven in labs to back up what they state. They are the only real deal and you won't find anything legit in auto parts stores.

How about LL100? You can't have cats and its hard on wide band O2s but cheap and available at any airfield.

      Best Octane Boost

I think I'm going to try out Torco Accelerator. Seems to be the most intuitive way to boost octane by simply adding concentrated race fuel.

I've heard good things about this product, but haven't tried it yet myself.

I use REV-X Adrenaline in my premium and haven't had a lick of problems since. Benn using it for about 2 years now and no detination at all. If I run without it, my motor sounds like a box of marbles got run through it. Here is their site.

How did it work out for you? I am going to try Boostane. seems a little more concentrated than Torco and not supposed to turn your internals and plugs orange.
