Please help me with backspace specs. for Forgeline wheels during black Friday sale

I have a 1969 Camaro with Ride Tech Level2 Suspension, Tru-turn and Muscle Bar.

UPDATE: Car is going to have DSE mini tubs installed

Has stock front discs now and drum brakes in rear. Hope to upgrade to Baer Brakes in future.

      I would like
      18 x 9.5 in front
      18 x 12 in rear

      Wheels:
      GT3C Concave
      1/2 in concave

What backspace should I get for front and rear wheels?
What length should my back axle be to get widest lip?

I did a search and could not find information I needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Thank you,

      Jody

Probably shoulda have been in the wheels and tires forum, but those sizes are pretty close to the 48 Hour Camaro. I'd see if you can find some info on that car. If you're going to custom width on the rear, you can always order the wheels and build the rear around it.

9.5 on the stock front sub with a stock type sway bar is going to be REALLLY limiting we use a 9.5 with a 6.5 BS on our sub and that works well.
in the rear with a stock width rear end and no mini tubs I would run a 9.5 with a 5.5 bs. given that you are wanting a 12 wheel then add 2.5 to the back space so 12 with a 8" bs.
the Concave wheels are a little trickier to fit but give us a call we are a Forgeline dealer and can hook you up till Monday at 4pm

I have the same ridetech suspension as you and am running a 18x9 with 6" back spacing on the front. ridetech recommends a 18x10 with 5.75" back spacing but there is no way it would have fit my car. Also, 67-68 wheels will fit different than a 69 due to the shape of the flattened front fenders. There is a good thread on Lat-G on the tru turn fitment. The gist of it is that all cars are different and measure your own car before ordering. I would borrow a set of wheels for a test for before ordering. Also, it's better to error on the side of too much back spacing because wheels can be moved out with spacers if needed.

Also you could put money down (probably non refundable) to secure your order, then provide the b/s details, then finalize the order....check with Matts classics, thats who i've been using.

Forgline sent me information on how to take measurements

I am going to assemble the Ride Tech Level2 Suspension and sheet metal to get measurements. I have done some research and the only way I see to get proper specs is to have measurements.

I attached a PDF from Forgeline to help others get measurements needed to order wheels below.

What is a popular shortened axle length for 69 Camaro's with mini tubs?

We do 56" on all the 1st gens. On a standard wheel it's about 4" of lip usually. Looks really good in my opinion.
Shoot me an email and I'll send a pic of a 69 we did with GA3 wheels.

I think my rear axle is 54.75. Find the correct rims you want and then shorten the axle.

Get the wheels with the BS you want and build the rear around the wheels, much easier to do in that order.

Check out my thread. I did same wheel sizes and if I recall correctly it was 5-5/8 back space both front and back with Fikse wheels. The 9.5's on the front are very tight to the outside lip on the 69. I have a little rub at times. Back wheels are fine.
