Closer look at the 2014 USCA Sebring Winners

      Todd Rumpke
2006 Z06 Corvette (AKA: “Super Snoopy”)
      GT3K Class

Todd Rumpke has been a player in our pro-touring race community for some time. Back in 2011 the Corvette, built and driven by Danny Popp at the time, won the optima Faceoff.

It had also completed in several SCCA and NASA events, along with other pro-touring events across the country. After all the abuse, it was decided to replace the wearing motor. The Corvette made its way back in the hands of Popp for some much needed attention. Since then the car has participated in a several events including this year’s Motor State Challenge, USCA Daytona, Gateway, Michigan and many others.

It is no surprise that Rumpke pulled of the win at this past weekend’s USCA Sebring event. We are glad to see him secure a spot for the 2014 optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational and can’t wait to see how the car runs in Vegas.

      Douglas Wind
      2005 Dodge SRT-4
      GT2K Class

Like many other USCA competitors, Douglas Wind is no stranger to racing. His SRT-4 has made several appearances at track days and race events over the past couple years. He has also participated in a handful of USCA events this year including Michigan and Sebring.

It looks like all that driving has paid off. Wind officially secured a spot this past weekend to race at OUSCI in six weeks. We don’t think Wind will have any problems handling the pressure though. From the looks of it, he has competed in a couple big races with this SRT-4.

What we love most about Wind is that he’s not afraid to drive his car on the track or to work. This is what USCA is all about #becausestreecar

      Matt Alcala
      2012 Ford Mustang
K&N Spirit of the Event Award

Usually Matt Alcala goes unnoticed when walking around at events, but that cannot be said for his driving skills and cars. This quiet natured guy is a driving force when he gets behind the wheel. Alcala has been associated with several vehicles including his well-known 1969 Camaro that ran at OUSCI last year as well as his current 2012 Mustang; which can usually be found at a Goodguys All American Sunday Autocross.

Matt and his father have been in the process of another build, which was supposed to make an appearance at this weekend’s USCA Sebring event. Unfortunately, as Alcala knows all too well, problems came about and plans had to change last minute. Luckily Alcala and his father had a back-up vehicle; their trusty 2012 Mustang.

The long trip from southern California to Sebring, Florida gave Alcala a huge advantage when being considered for the K&N Spirit of the Event Award. The 2,400 mile trip did not go unnoticed with the USCA judges. Alcala also ranked in the top ten with his mustang in the GT3K class. His dedication to our sport showed this weekend and we were happy to hear that he was chosen as the Spirit of the Event pick. Congratulations Matt Alcala and we will be seeing you once again in Vegas in six weeks.
