Gauge Placement - help
Designing a new dash and was wondering how dashboards/gauge placement is designed. I look at a porsche and they seem to make everything visible through the steering wheel while others put them anywhere, independent of visibility through the wheel. I see those with DSE dashes for 69 Camaro's have two 5" gauges in the center (visible through the wheel) and then 4 2 1/16 gauges around the perimeter. It appears like those 2 1/16 gauges are not visible through the wheel, but I don't know for sure.
Can someone please educate us or point in the direction of information? Pics would be great also.
