      2004r won't go new thread

I have a new build just completed SBC with 2004r and 2500 stall all new. When I put it in gear forward or reverse with my foot on the brake it jumps and dies like it is engaged. I put it on jack stands and put it in gear and wheels go what ever direction I select, if I put my foot on the brake it dies.. Just to check I took one of the coolant lines off and it is pumping fluid strong. It is a non lockup trans and TC.

      Questions

What if I didn't get the Torque converter (TC) seated when I put it in?

Could the TC stator be fried inside?

Is it not getting fluid to the TC?

      Thanks

If you didn't seat the torque converter and forced it in you would have destroyed the pump. Seating the converter lines the cutouts with the pump. If that was the case you would likely have a loss in trans fluid pressure causing the trans to slip and create excessive heat and burn up pretty quick.

Do you have electric hooked to the transmission?
Do you have a vacuum switch?

Yes it should spin with the torque converter unbolted from the flex plate

You have a lock-up convertor and the trans is set up for a non lock-up.
