66 Mustang Ridetech wider front wheels

Hopefully this is the right spot for this.

I'm running a ridetech tru-trun coilover system on my 1966 Mustang. According to their page the max width wheel is 8" wide with a backspace of 5.5".

Has anyone gone wider than that? What have you done?

I love the look of the Maier Mustang with 315's up front. How would a person in my situation accomplish that?

Will I have to switch over to a Maier front suspension setup? Will I have to run flared front fenders?

Any insight you can give me will be much appreciated!

The blue Maier mustang has flared fiberglass fenders, you would need good size flares up front to run a 315 and a lower offset wheel.

With the Detroit Speed new front suspension which eliminates the shock towers and 9.5X18 on a 275/35-18 is possible without modifying the fenders. I like the widebody look on the Maier fenders.
