      pontiac 400 compression test

question for all the pontiac guys:
I have a pontiac 400 (406) KRE 74cc alum heads, mild crower cam
Pistons are not the best just TRW stock replacement with 4 valve reliefs
The compression ratio is around 9.6:1
I have about 6000 miles and never had the need to check the compressions yet.
I autocross a lot and I started to get blue smoke on deceleration so I pulled the plugs after my last event and found oil on two plugs.
I did a compression check and got between 105 to 115 psi across all cylinders with no leak downs. So its most likely the valve seals on those two cylinders.
My question is, is 105 to 115 normal with a mild cam? a stock 400 normally gets I think 150 to 160...

I was going to say that is pretty low-even my 8:1 400 with a small cam was cranking 155-160.

Swap to better umbrella seals over orings. Sounds like guides may have been set up too loose.
Also double check PCV in valley pan. Never run it in valve cover and make sure one or both valve covers are vented so it can pull fresh air through.
NEVER run an engine without PCV properly installed and set up,,,oh and use AC Delco or Echlin(NAPA) PCV valve, been runing into weak "other "brands.

OH yeah if Pontiac burns oil its not properly sealed/built. I have built 3 for my self on budget, one I did a VERY bad hone job one, Cylinders are super crooked(before I learned HOW to properly use Sunnen straight hone. None burnt oil.
