      351 Windsor Issues Part 2

      So carb tuning is the least of my worries today. I was out for a cruise yesterday and the engine just died. Then about a second later backfired. This is the end result:







      And this is the way she came home:



      Anybody have any idea what could shear the gears off of a distributor shaft?

      Cam walking, old worn out gear, what type of cam is in there, maybe the gear is incompatible with the cam.

      The cam is from Cam Motion. Sent them an email to find out what type of gear I should use.

      That looks like a cast gear. If it is, and you have a billet roller cam (solid or hyd), you will continually have that issue until the cam gets chewed up. Let us know what Cam Motion has to say.

      billet rollers take mellonized gear OR bronze, ONLY. Might be able too use one from factory roller engine if gear is same diameter.
