I like how you employed a Ghost to assist you with the labor. Upside being free labor you never have to feed or pay!

The down side is... if they dont like it they'll haunt you forever. Worth it I think.

LOL. I did not want to post my fathers picture on the net without his permission, but due to the amount of comments i got on the face blur on this and other forum, i posted an unblured pic during his fitting. The coupe is his, so the free labor is net savings on his pocket book, and everytime he changes his mind, the free parts are handed down for the vert, or the next runner up for ;)... mama's new ride...

Next...Firewall behind pedal assay's then reinforce pedal carriers and make new brackets to attach it back to the dash structure.

This is awesome. I wish my donor car was a later model. I am doing basically the same thing, only with a 2002 donor. Instead of cutting in the tunnel and the firewall section, I actually installed the entire floor and firewall from the 02. It was a lot of work, but it will be nice when everything just bolts back in. I will be following this thread as it gives much needed inspiration to continue on mine.

Thanks. We had considered the whole floor and firewall, but the 5th gen is 10" wider and way deeper. the cowl assy was too far off to to make it work

Amazing work. Can't wait to see more! Would be cool to take the new Camaro and fit the old Camaro stuff to it as well. Even put a gen 1 smallblock in it and maybe an old 4 speed or something go totally retro with it.

      update

Well...we thought we might be able to get by without modifying the inside lower cowl, but the brake pedal carrier and booster location is just too low and interferes with the wheel house and the steering shaft...so lower cowl mods are in order to raise those components, therefore, were are going for the 5th gen wiper motor and evaporator/heater box too. Oh, looks like a factory hood is off the table. LOL

I love what your doing. I'm going to try to find a section of floor from a 5th gen like you put in this car to use the 5th gen shifter. Great job!

      Thanks Wayne,

I see you switched gears and going LSA. Your doing a 4L in it right? My father is going to a bone yard to grab another dash for some experimenting. The Car is coming out of is an 2013 that was auto with the tap shifter. he's going to try an buy whats left of the front clip, so let me know if your interested in the shifter and tunnel around the shifter and or steering wheel (blown airbag).
