      No Breather

I'm using a PCV with an oil separator on the passenger side of my SBC. On the driver's valve cover I have a -10 fitting to a remote catch can with a breather. I don't like the breather directly in the valve cover because they tend to leak oil. With the remote catch can/breather I have never had a problem, but I need to eliminate it to free up room. Can I just run the -10 line on the driver's side, unfiltered, direct to the bottom of the air cleaner?

Anyone? I think it would be a cleaner alternative to open breathers but I'm afraid the engine will suck oil through the line under high load, low vacuum. Gravity should keep oil out of the air cleaner in theory but I have not tried it yet. Do most of you just run an open breather with a PCV with no problems? I know without a PCV the breathers can get pretty oily.

That's the way a lot of factory cars do it so it shouldn't be a problem to hook up the hose like that.
