Has anyone been able to find these in 5 3/4" for the early A Body cars?

Just curious if anyone knows the answer to the last post? Can these be used with hideaway headlights. I would think with some mods to the headlight buckets.

      Led Headlights

We've used them on two 69 RS front end cars. They do require mods to the buckets.

I know it's an old post but just for future viewers... 71-72 Chevelle is not the same as the earlier Chevelles. 64-70 is the 5-3/4", 71-72 is the 7".

I just swapped over to the truck lite 27270c on my 68 (from standard halogens). I got lucky and found somebody selling them on Ebay for $100 for the pair, the guy was trading in his jeep. Here is a comparison form the old halogen to the new ones. Haven't had a chance to see the difference (on the road) but the light pattern on the wall is much brighter and wider with the LEDs.

I did that in my black 68 GMC C15, with relays that removed the head light switch from the power circuit. A thing of beauty at night.

Had to cut most of the stock head light bucket out and hole saw the radiator support on the inner lights.

Oracle LEDs take a boat load of cutting to the head light buckets. Same with the JW Speakers or Truck-lite for most classic cars. Good news is that the aluminum housing is very stiff. I used them in a few projects.

I've used the drop in LED bulb and unless you get the right housing, it really makes the light worse. I put an H4 replacement in my Ducati Monster 1200s to very good effect, but not so hot in the Ciba G-Code housings I used in my Jeep CJ7.

I know it's a 4x4 site, but lights are lights. My friend Gil did a pretty decent comparison:

http://www.jkowners.com/tech/lights/ In his review, he mentions HID drop in bulbs. I also lump LED drop in bulbs in the same bucket, as it's the quality of the housing, not the bulb.

The Oracles were not out at the time, but I've run all the lights we're talking about. I'd place the Oracles slightly above the Truck Lites in performance and slightly below them in looks. Truck light also does not make a 5.75" light (that I know of). They do look more like old school headlights.

I saw this just came out. Might be an easy solution if you already upgraded your headlights. I use Hella E-code headlights on my 65 Chevelle. I might pick up a set of these to try in 'em.

Has anybody put the truck lites in a 70 -73 Camaro? If so, did you have to modify the headlight buckets?

Check these out. Although these are listed as Mustang they will fit anything using a 7" or 5-3/4" headlight. Many styles.

These can be used in any sealed bean style housing that accepts an H4 Bulb
