The Schwartz Performance/Wrangler #3 Monte Carlo going to Daytona

To me Dale Earnhardt is synonymous with Daytona. So what is the owner of a 1984 Monte Carlo SS do when the opportunity arises to run at Daytona. Create a Wrangler #3 tribute car.

Next week the Monte wil go to Sharpline Auto Trim in Cedar Falls, IA for a partial wrap. Wrangler jeans will be on the hood, Schwartz Performance, the supplier of the chassis under the Monte, will appear in the quarters and deck lid. This is going to be cooler than dang it.

Hereis what we are starting with

      Here's where it's headed.

Is there a teaser pic of the design you can entice us with?

Adding the yellow to the existing blue. Schwartz will be on the quarter, replacing Wrangler, with Performance in smaller letters, simular to Jeans. The deck lid will have Schwartz's graphic from their newest shorts, body lifted of a chassis. Hood will display Wrangler. I deliver the car first of the week for the work to begin.

The Monte Carlo was delivered today to Sharpline for the makeover. Should be done next week. So until then time will stand still.

      That car is freaking awesome.

The wrap on the Monte will be finished tomorrow. Along with Schwartz Performance, West Bend Dyno Tuning has come on board. I'll have the car there the 25th to get the tune on the new EFI done. Thanks Brad.

The final install of the wrap is being tape for an upcoming segment on Search for the Ultimate Street Car. We delayed the completion a week to allow the producer time to get here. Pretty cool for a small town Iowa boy.

Little update. Two weeks ago West Bend Dyno Tuning did their magic on the Monte. Found 30rwp and a lot more top end. Very pleased with the results. And then the trans expired. Seems the test drive was to much for the 2-4 band. The fix, a T56 will replace the 4l60e this weekend. Nothing like a major change prior to THE event.

The producer for Search for the Ultimate Street Car has been in contact with me since the videoing of the wrap. He has been putting together what he calls "the Daytona surprise". Yesterday he confirmed it is a go and I must be there Thursday evening for the reveal. No idea as to what the surprise is but we WILL be there Thursday evening. Being invited to OUSCI in 2012 was amazing, but to get to run this car at Daytona may be just a knotch higher.
