I guess I will be the first posting. Is there any information on this. I'm already registered for HAN and would be interested in participating in the event. Send out any information there is.

Given the lateness of winter, you may need studded tires to participate...

We are working on getting further information about the autocross for this event. At this time no further details have been released. As soon as we hear anything we will post it in this thread.

Hi Tom, we are taking the Camaro to Reno. Are you thinking of going this year? Cuda or Vette?

I've always wondered about an autocross up there. They brought the drags back closer to all the action. Definitely would draw some crowds. I'll be there. Looking forward to some more info.

Here some more info for everyone...
No great details, but it does appear to be happening! I just got off the phone with HAN because I didn't see any info in my Hot Flashes I received in the mail. They did say it was happening on Thu, Fri, and Sat at the swap meet!

Guys, just a reminder. Hot August Nights Autocross is one of very few events outside of the regular GoodGuys Autocross events that you can qualify for GoodGuys Scottsdale Autocross Shootout in November. American Street Car Series is very proud that we have three events this year that are qualifiers for GGs Scottsdale and HANs is one of those. All you need is to be registered with HANs event, have a 1972 or older car on TW200 or greater tires, have the fastest autocross time of the weekend and you WILL GET the invite. We don't play games or favorites with our invites, bring your A-game to the event and hope it is fast enough to take first place and you will be on the way to Scottsdale. The only thing we ask is that if you accept the invite, you promise to make the event. If you can't, we will pass it on to the next qualifier.
We hope to see you guys there, remember, we are on the official HAN schedule now, Thursday-Saturday.

We never made it over to watch the autox. Issues with the parents and I didn't even bring the car. :( I did hear watching the local news that it was a great event and they're working to expand on it next year!! Any truth to this? Thanks.

The organizers of Hot August Nights loved the autox and want to put it in an area where more people can watch, perhaps by one of the casino's. They plan on making it a featured event next year and shot professional video of the event for use in next years promotional TV ads. Bill Howell and his crew did a great job running and organizing the event. We plan on attending again next year, I know all Protouring people would have a blast there, lots to see and do hope they get a big turn out next year.

Video of one run this year.

First time event with unlimited runs and no pain whatsoever. Bill and his crew deserve a lot of credit for making the best with what they had to work with and I'm confident next year will be even better.

The Hot August Nights organizers were really enthusiastic and promised Bill that they would get a more central location for 2015 with lots of room for the course.
I think that will be a "must attend" event because the people at HAN love cars and they love seeing cars run hard even more. There are so many things to see and do and it is all covered in your HAN entry fee.

      Bill:

Will there be enough room for parking a truck and trailer and unloading the car at the new site?
