Do I need to upgrade my harmonic balancer?
I'm building a 496 BBC and am ready to get my internals balanced. This being my first time building a motor i'm not sure whether or not i need to upgrade my balancer. Can i save money and use the stock one or should i spend the extra money on a new one?

Spend the money. Ask who's doing your balance work to make recommendations.

Get the better balancer, you're not building a stock motor and controlling harmonics is important.
