      T56 lower shift boot/cover

What are you guys using? How large of a hole did you cut in your transmission tunnel? I would love to see pictures.

I used a Lokar universal shifter boot. I cut the hole in the floor board just big enough to remove the shifter from the top. That's where I also fill the trans with fluid when needed.

It is also a good idea to have a rubber boot under the pretty leather one. Make sure the rubber boot seals tightly around the shifter stick and against the trans tunnel. A little insulation inside the pretty boot is also a good idea.

Yeah I am planning to use a upper shift boot like one of those. What did you guys use on the lower?

My Hurst shifter came with a rubber boot that covers the shifter stick down to the shifter housing.

I put a piece of dynamat over the top of the plate in the tunnel and seal it to the top of the shifter base on the trans to create a nice seal.

I bought a 69 camaro boot and retainer plate for a manual with console car and cut the hole to match. Works well and most any vedor can provide.

I only recommend though if you are planning to run a console like I did.
