      Tko 600 hp

Is anyone currently running the TKO 600 with more than 600 ft lb and 600 hp like they are rated for? thanks

I have a TKO 600 in my 70 Nova with a 572 - 620hp@650 ft lbs torque. No problems so far with approx 4-5k miles on this combination.. Being traction limited probably helps though. I have a spare 572 that I recently dyno'd and it put down 647hp out of the box with no jetting changes so I am sure the one in my Nova exceeds the 620 factory rating. Only problem I have had is the 2-3 shift but it may be me. Other then that its all good.

Thanks for the feed back. Im having a 496 built and the builder figured it would be around 700 hp and 635 ft lb. Its going in a 69 Camaro with 335 rear tires. Its not going to be a race car but it will do the occasional smoke show.

FYI: The TKO 600 is a good solid tranny for street use...but be aware you cannot 'blast' 3rd gear; it is the weak link. A friend grenaded his at LSFest.

Even though I do have the TKO 600, the T56 probably would have been a better choice but I am happy with what I have.
