Downside for Bay Area folks, the 49ers departure from Candlestick to their new joint in Santa Clara (way bitchin BTW, I had a tour of the new stadium a few weeks ago) has resulted in the loss of not one, but two venues. Candlestick will be turned into condos and shopping malls and the new stadium sits right where the old Great America overflow lot (oft used by AAS) was, the one across from the 49ers practice facility. A bit of a drag but we still have Oakland, Alameda & Solano Co. Fairgrounds (Vallejo).

The Candlestick site hasn't been used in a few years and don't forget that ALL MARINA EVENTS are tentative. Lots to do in the Sacramento and Stockton area and so glad we have Crows Landing for a few events. I've never run there but heard its an awesome venue for solo events.

Mark those calendars for all the autocrossing you could ever want in the Bay Area and nearby locales.

Just so people aren't surprised when they get there. SCCA requires a membership to be able to run with them. That can be done two ways, with either a weekend membership costing $15 or with a yearly membership costing $90. Weekend memberships are purchased on site whereas the yearly membership is done through the SCCA website. Up to two weekend memberships can be put towards your full membership if you want to join for the year after trying SCCA out.

Also, keep in mind that "ALL EVENTS" that are put on at Crows Landing are being hosted by SCCA therefore needing a weekend membership. Even the AAS and Corvette Club. SCCA will have the final say on the course design and safety aspects of all things run at Crows.
