1969 Camaro at the Roadster Shop

Here is a 69 Camaro that we started a few months back for a local customer. He brought in a driver quality car and wanted to really take it to the next level. Unhappy with the ride, the power, the interior, or exterior, the plan was for a complete overhaul to bring the car up to today's standards. Not a full blown track car, but something that he could drive across country comfortably and still be in contention at local auto-X events.

Still in the planning phase on a lot of things, but here are the basics to get started.
Roadster Shop Fast Track Chassis System
      14" Wilwoods
      D/A Afco coilovers
      550-600 HP LS3
      T-56 Magnum trans
      18's and 20's
      Several subtle body mods
All black with matte black and red accents

      Original car

The body ended up in worse condition than we had originally thought. It was not horrible, but not great. Some one had patched the floors and did a custom quarter panel installation on both sides. The doors and fenders had some previous work as well. The car now needed floors, quarters, door skins, and lower fenders.

The body was then squared and fixtured and the panel repair began.

Floor and firewall were cut out to begin repairs.

The chassis was built while we were waiting for parts to come in.

New center crossmember design that will be used on all production chassis.

New mid and side braces added in to the chassis to increase rigidity as well as add detail.

You guys wouldn't be know off hand what brand of black cabinets are in the picture when the car is on the rack. I am putting cabinets in the garage and like the design. The frame looks awesome as well. Can't wait to track the progress.

What lift is this?? It looks like it is recessed into the ground when not in use!

The cabinets are made by Rousseau. Definitely quality pieces.

The lifts in the assembly room are by Rotary. Both are in ground lifts so we could have a smaller foot print, cleaner look, and easier to work with out the upright poles in the way.

Renderings of the car completed by Chris Gray. We are going for a modernized version of the 1969 Camaro with a few subtle details to enhance the look with out taking away from the original lines of the car.

Can you get that exhaust setup with the stock fuel tank? Great rendering!
