Default Welcome to Our Message Board?

Why are their 0-80 views on each new thread, yet only 2-5 welcome posts on each?

Not everyone that reads a post replies to it.

    Is that what you're asking?

    Or is your question:

If you read a welcome post... why not say "Hello"?

We've got a lot of unregistered users who can't reply, but seem to read everything. Or at least that's my take on it.

Come on, lurkers, come out of the woodwork and be friendly!

Yeah, that was more like it

Just odd to see so many views and so few replies. Guess I was just surprised. No big deal. I like this board a lot so far. Good info all over.

Not really of the literal F-22. My last car was a '91 Formula and that was my nickname for it...inspired by the F-22

    Welcome to the board

I think the "many lurkers" theory is the best..

I think there are also a lot of people who only post if they have something to add to the conversation (I like to think that I'm like that). The site mirrors real life, some people are just shy and don't go out of their way to make new friends. I know that I pretty rarely respond to the "hey I'm new" posts myself, but I read most of them.

Another reason could be that in the past 2 months this site has grown by over 325 members. I'm not sure when it started (mid 2002?)but it only had 1077 members 10/10/04-I know that because I am 1077. So I am guessing the old rate was 450 a year and now it is ? a month. It would be interesting to see a graph showing the membership growth. Anyway that could be the reason.

P.S. Six new members just while I wrote this response!
