Thanks everyone. The kind words definitely help keep me motivated. As for other Studes popping up, that's a part of Hot Rodding I suppose. I'm always interested in how other guys would design and execute their projects so if I've persuaded someone to pick up one of these little guys then that's very cool.
Today I continued to work on the front end. I also spent quite a bit of time lining up the doors, fenders, and hood. I'm running Delrin body mounts all around so I cut a pair of mounts for the new core support as well as got the rad/ac condenser/fan shroud mocked up. Really nice to just see more parts going on the car.

Be flattered Phillip, these are a popular Stude in Australia but I can guarantee no-one has or is building one like yours. Like many, I have loved your project from day 1.
The 64 and 65 2 door Stude were almost exclusively Police pursuit cars in Oz.

Well guys, I've been busy. I had started on the core support without really knowing where or what direction I was headed. How was I going to mount the radiator? How will it be stabilized? Can I keep the over all weight of the unit light yet rigid? To my surprise things kind of fell into place and I'm really happy with the final product. I still need to final weld it as well as I would like to add some more holes to the front of it to allow air to enter the bottom 1.5" of the condenser and radiator. I've had some people ask me what brand of electric fan that I use and it is a Cooling Components. They have many different size shrouds and on this one I only had to trim 1" off each side for it to slide right into the back of the rad.
After having my new driveshaft made I realized that for some reason I ordered my 3rd member from Mark Williams with a 1330 yoke. Damn. I'm sure a 1330 would work for 99% but with some of the plans I have for this car I just didn't want to deal with the thought in the back of my mind so I got it swapped out for a MW1350 yoke. In preparation for getting the drive shaft mocked up I needed to cut out the rest of the floor in the way. I spent about 20 minutes making this new tunnel with the slip roll. I used 18 gauge for this because rolling 16 is way too much like a work out at the gym. I still plan to do any flat areas with 16 gauge to more closely match the original floor thickness.

Things are moving along slowly.. I mocked up my NASCAR oil cooler as well as started working on the front fender mounts and notching the rear cross member for the drive shaft. I've been kind of bouncing around on the car so I don't get bored. It all needs to be done anyways right?? I also scored an NOS front lower valance and got that mocked up in the last picture. Man it's a really nice piece.

I've gotten a little bit more time to work on the Daytona this past week. I'm at the point of mounting the radiator now that my intercooler is mounted. I want to touch on the intercooler because that is a part of this project that I have yet to talk about with you guys. I've had the twin turbochargers for the car for a very long time but haven't really mentioned it on here. The turbochargers are STS units that will be mounted where the rear seat was once mounted. I know there is a lot of good, bad, and ugly out there about remote mount turbos but I still want to try this out. People had asked me why I cut out so much of the rear floor and I think now that will most likely make more sense.
I had to cut off part of the inlets into the intercooler to get it inside of the core support that I built. That really happened because I swore that there was more room from there to the front bumper by man oh man how space begins to shrink fast when all of the systems start getting put in place. So far I've been able to get it in there but I'm really having to watch closely where things are going and how the systems are going to be interconnected.

Got a chance to work on the Studebaker over the weekend. Like I've said before I have been jumping around a little bit to keep myself from getting too bored. There is so much to do on the car and I've been working on it for so long that I try to keep my brain from getting to bored or worn out. On Friday night I only had an hour or so at the shop so I worked on a lower radiator mounting solution as well as worked on an upper radiator hose. The portion of the hose shown here is our of a 78 VW Rabbit. Hey, what ever works right?

Then, on Sunday my Uncle came over and gave me a hand with the inner fenders. They are about 85% there but I'm definitely happy with how they are turning out.

Then, for some blind staring I decided to throw the turbo's up into the back of the car. I think I might lower them down a little bit but this is really just to get an idea of how everything might fit/work. One thing I need to really think about is how to plumb the oil returns down into one container to pump it back to the motor. I would love to gravity feed them back to the oil pan but that's just not possible with where they are going to be located.
