Default '66 Plymouth Modern Concept

These renderings were created for me by Reuben Zammit. I contacted Reuben when I saw his work on the Hubgarage.com and asked if he would be willing to take a shot at modernizing the '66 Belvedere II design. When I finish the Northern Bel Project and if I build a custom version, I think it would look very much like this. Reuben is an extremely talented guy and he developed these sketches with just some input and critiques from me and others close to me. I think this is a highly buildable design and it would do Chrysler a lot of good to build this today!

While Reuben lives in Malta and has never seen a muscle car in the flesh, his natural design skill lead him to create this design which incorporates many original elements that recall muscle era designs.
What do you think?

WOWWWWWWWWW!!! Awesome! So who is going to build it? The one spot that leaves me a little sour is the split hoodscoops. If you took the center dividers out of them it would look about perfect!

I LOVE IT!!! I agree on the scoop though, make that one wide scoop and it's the perfect Belvedere. Reuben nailed it!

Stock had twin single scoops. The scoops look like a Buick Skylark version. Nice rendering.

I was referring to twin single scoops instead of Twin double scoops. But the single like a max wedge scoop would look nice too.

Thanks for all of the great feedback. This site is an outstanding community of people on the web.

Northern Bel is progressing. I post updates on http://www.northernbel.com/ when ever another major step is taken in the project.

The car is currently at US Car Tool http://uscartool.com/ in their Body in White program. It and a donor car that I bought have both gone through dip. All of the bad parts from the Hemi car have been removed. All of the needed good parts from the donor car have been removed and prepped for welding onto the Hemi car. The it should be back in close to a one piece unibody shape by the end of February.

The guys from US Car Tool have done a fantastic job. It is worth looking through the pictures on my site or theirs to see the extent and quality of the work they are doing.

Someday I would love to build a car like the one in the rendering at the top of the thread. That is going to have to wait a while. While Northern Bel is not inexpensive, doing a full custom would just be at a whole other level in terms of difficulty and cost.
