Default Always check the barn.....

h ow bout this for a surprise

Always check the barn..................!

  • A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retirement
money wisely, so it could last, and decided to buy a home and afew acres in Portugal. The modest farmhouse had been vacant for15 years; the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been weldedshut.
Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it
wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so,
    nobody made an offer on
    the place.

The New York guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved

in, and set out to tear into the barn.......curiosity was killing him.

So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and

    cut thru the welds.

    What was in the barn..............?

    The Barn

The doors were welded shut, but an angle grinder took care of that.

True storyline? Not likely.
Legitimate "cars in barn"? heck yeah.

I heard a similar, but different story from a coworker. He knew someone that bought a government property, and when he looked in one of the buildings he found some wartime Harley Davidsons. He contacted the government to see if they wanted them (and probably to make sure he wouldn't get in trouble for having them) and was told that he bought everything that was on the property.
He gave one of the cycles to a Harley Museum.

(No pics or verification, but I liked the story.)
