Should a replacement front windshield be needed in the future, what would be the price of just the glass.

The replacement windshield, urethane, new weatherstrip, ect will be 450 dollars.. You will recieve everything you need for the replacement. The only rule we have in order to recieve replacement glass is, we must have a picture of the damaged product in your car.

just wondering... if you are selling the windshield for $450... that means the rear is $1550.00 before shipping charges and packaging charges?

Or did I miss something?

Have you always charged $2000.00 for the set plus shipping and handling fee's of a few hundred dollars I'm sure?

It means this kit should only be $1000. When o can buy a regular wondshield for $120 - one a little bigger should not cost 1000

Well, you guys would probably be close, If I was ordering several hundred or thousands of sets at a time, and had many years under my belt. Like anything else, it is very expensive to do low number runs, and the price of the parts reflect it. When I get all the lines off the ground, and my production goes up, then the prices will fall.

But, at 450 dollars for a replacement windshield, packaging, urethane, and all the other necessaries (Packaging, Shipping, Man Power, ect) I may not even be breaking even. That is why I request a picture of the damaged winshield in the car, I cannot afford to sell pieces of a kit at pure cost or less. Our flat rate of 140 dollars shipping for the complete kit, is also a loss for me, it actually cost about 240 dollars by the time packaging and shipping is arrange. It actually cost me an addtional 80 dollars to that if it is not Commercial Delivery.

But, for all you guys that dont understand business and want to look at the price of things compared to others. Look how long of a run the factory winshields have had, everything has been established and paid for many years ago. That is how they can do it. Our company hasnt reached that yet, but we hope to get there. As far as someone arriving at the kit should cost a 1000 dollars, dont forget all the other expenses and liabilities involved in a company's day to day and bottom line (Those cost are easy to forget by customers)

I would hope that you guys apply the same critism to other company's products. How much does it actually cost in material to make those billet aluminum parts? How much does it actually cost to make the Flowmaster Mufflers? How much does it cost to make anything that we like? Dont forget the risk and investment involved in all the products you guys love. It takes some initiative to make the decision to move forward on some of these items. If there was no profit, you wouldnt have any of the cool stuff out there.. Do you think SEMA Showcased products operate on a hope for no profit for their risk?

Sorry for the RANT guys, but come on. Everyday we pay for products that are profitable for some. Your everyday needs, Soaps, office products, ect have a way higher profit margin than most of the products in the aftermarket automotive industry. But, our products are strictly voluntary, and wont make you stink if you dont purchase them. So, please dont be to critical on some of our Small Business needs and practices, especially if you dont know the whole picture. Most small businesses try to be fair, and should be respected for what they bring to us. If the price doesnt suit you, then dont purchase the product. I do this everyday in my life.

How many cars have had the intsall done? My auto glass guy does not want to install the glass with the moldings that came in the kit. Can anybody tell me of a glass company that has completed an install and if there were any tricks that will make the intall any better? My auto glass guy who has been installing for about 15 years wont touch this job.

Congrats to you on the catalog inclusion; Classic Industries is indeed a big vendor. However, I wonder if you can help me out on what you mean by your product being "flush mount." As a designer, I interpret "flush" as the surface of the glass being a curvature-continuous extension of the surrounding sheetmetal surface; meaning no offset in height where the sheetmetal is proud of glass (which is normally the criteria benchmark we shoot for at GM). Is that the type of product you are offering or is your glass just tight to the windshield opening of the backlight; meaning minimal gap or what we call "touch condition" from edge of glass to sheetmetal? Thanks.

Default Flush Mount?

It seems from talking to the glass guy I am trying to hire for the install that the molding should be changed in the kits since the molding does not have any margin or overlap.

They took the window and did a mock up and the moldings I received were not going to overlap.

They are researching other moldings.

He did say this would have been a good idea to mount the glass like the new GM cars. I took a look at my 2010 chevy and there is no molding. Called an undermount molding...had the glass been made a little bigger that could have been done.

Its a true flush mount with about a 3/16 margin around the entire window with only a molding on the bottom. No molding appears anywhere on the glass...

Since I have what I have I am wondering how many actual installs have been done and has there been any issues...?

My glass guy the problem with what I have is the molding is not wide enough and there is no way to round the corners without cutting a pie into the corners and he thought that was not very professional looking.....

But I cannot say since I have not been thru this instal yet and I am 5 hours from my car and really cannot review the so called issue.

It is possible that we may have included a different weatherstrip in some of the kits. There was a weatherstrip bulk order issue, we had contacted the customers that we thought were affected. It is possible that a few more are out there. If you feel you may have the wrong weatherstrip, please do not hesitate to contact me. We will supply you with the correct weatherstrip if we find out you have the incorrect style. I apologize for any inconvience, but we thought we had everyone taken care of. For some reason, one of our bulk orders came labeled with the same part number, but the profile was different.

Our kits do include a weatherstrip that we feel fits the majority of installs. For the guys that are fine tuning their cars, any weatherstrip you prefer is fine. Our glass kits were developed to fit everyones car, and in achieving this, we had to include the weatherstrip that better achieves this goal. If your car is being fine tuned to the glass, then you can use a different profile and dimension weatherstrip. We are working on install video's and pictures to be placed on our new Website. But for now, please do not hesitate to call for any information.

To answer Trapin question... Our glass is over-sized, and is also made to be a continuation of the body's sheet metal. The glass is made to install at the level of the sheet metal. When installed, you should be able to run your hand from the sheet metal to the glass with minimal transition. The filler strip can be of any style the customer wishes to use. On the back glass of the Black Camaro, I didnt use any weather strip. It has been floated to the level of the sheet metal and installed in the same fashion as most of the late model General Motors vehicles of today.

The upper corners of the windshield can be rounded by the weatherstrip without cutting a pie shape of the moulding (See the Red Camaro Install) Or it can be cut to make a 90 degree angle at the top (Personally, I like this style). Here are a couple of pics to demonstrate. I am available 7 days a week for any questions or install advice.

It is a general motors antenna connector for the early 80's chevy truck.. They were suppose to be included in the kits, so if anyone needs one, send me a pm with your mailing address and I will get it out to you..
