I dont mean to jump in, but can you live off of $10 an hour in Cali? I struggle making $15.50 in Michigan. I just always thought people in cali paid more.
Only for B-3 visa illegal aliens!:bananna2:

I think the $10/hr is for entry level position.
And, no, you cannot support one's self nor a family with any kind of living for $10/hr.

$10/hr will get you some kid who lives at home maybe, or some guy who lives at home but shouldn't still be!
I hire unskilled/unexperienced general laborers for construction for $12-14/hr.
In n Out Burger starts people at $11/hr in Nor Cal.
Yes, these are apples to oranges comparisons I know, but they are for basic reference.
And the end of the day, you get what you pay for that includes quality labor.

any employee benefits like discount on stuff you sell? maybe a good incentive to entice people to apply.

gotta remember that $10/hr worker for a shop like this is worth way more than paying to go to Wyotech or something like that. I had to hire a helper for myself cause I was in a bad motorcycle accident and right now I cant do everything on my own. The kid I hired is 21 and is more than happy to work on hot rods all day and learn on the job. I told him to consider that he is getting paid to learn as opposed to paying to do the same thing. So as for an entry level kid that doesnt know anything except that he likes cars this is a perfect oppurtunity.

Exactly.
And you get quite a well-rounded AND specialized education at Wyotech, so don't compare sweeping the floors and running parts while watching people assemble bad ass motors to going to the best automotive school in the country.

Hi, my name is Ryan Ivesdal. I am responding to your add about the entry level position available. I am very excited to be even talking to you! I have been watching your videos for years and have always loved what your guys are doing. I have every little experience in the high tech world in which Nelson Racing lives but would love to learn and learn from the best! I have no college education, however when I built a 383 stroker motor to put out 500 plus hp I tought myself how by reading books and asking questions. I am a quick learner and love the world of speed and power! I always have. I think I would be great for the postition because I do what I am told and do'nt ask why. I grew up on a farm so I am no stranger working hard and using tools and I think I would be a great help around the shop because of that.
Thank you for the oppertunity,
Ryan Ivesdal

This thread is 3 months shy of 3 years old. If you want to talk with them about any possible job openings, or future job openings, I would recommend calling or emailing them directly.
Best of luck.

You really ought to call him if you are interested.
Think about it from his perspective.
Just a tip.
