ok i just need to vent im really really pissed off right now. i just got a call tonight from my cousin and said our little trade was off and he wanted his 3500 back... (we where trading cars 67 gto for a 68 camaro and 3500 cash) he gave me the money befor we traded cars so i could start buying parts. he tells me tonight the trade is off he wants his 3500 back... i tell him i already orderd my back wheels and some other parts, and he starts to yell at me for it. :squint: so tommarow i have to stop the wheels being made hopefully its not to late. and give him his money back. im just mad because i wanted the camaro b/c it would have been a much easier project for me and for him to say nope its off kinda pissed me off.

sigh

That is exactly why doing business w/ family is so damned irrtating. Sorry to hear the deal fell through.

You should have got the car when the money exchanged hands. In Delaware if you shook your cousins hand after the deal was made and you had a witness. It would be considered a binding contract here. I feel for your pain.

I'd tell him he can have his $3500 back but to go ahead and lose my phone number, because we're no longer friends. I'd also tell him that he'd be wise to keep his distance at family functions too. I don't like when people pull crap like that...especially family members.

When it is family it can hurt a little more too. I like what Tony said!

I think you should give it back to him in pennies.

I think you should give it back to him in pennies.I did that in college to an ex-girlfriend. She lent me ~$300 when I broke my T/A rear. Then I caught her cheating on me a few months later, so out the door she went. Being a man, I always pay my debts. We used to have a weekly party at our place then, so for two straight weeks, entry fee was the usual $4 for a cup, but now we added a handful of change. We filled an emptied beer ball with change. We ended up about $15 short, but did get about 10 GSP toll tokens. :)

So I dropped the beer ball w/ the change (unrolled, of course) on her doorstep. A cathartic moment, to say the least.

Back to topic...
I say give him the parts & the receipts, and the balance of the $3500 in cash. If he crys, tell him to call his lawyer. And get off your lawn.:here!:

Be a man and give him his stuff back and toss it up to experience. He might be a dumbass but he is still family.
