I found myself in heaven yesterday! I bailed out early, due to sensory overload. With a broad smile, I laid my head on the pillow and drifted to sleep. This morning, were it not for a camera full of pictures and video clips, I would swear it was all a dream.

I need to thank a bunch of people, some of whom I haven't even met. But if your name is :thankyou:Bob :thankyou:David:thankyou:Tammy:thankyou:Larry:than kyou: or Billy :thankyou: Thank You!

There were obviously a lot of other folks that I knew nothing about, but thank you too!

Also thanks to Jeff, David, Frank, Lisa, and Billy for the car advise! Can't wait till the next event!

Oh, nice shot of the "Barn"! Any more of it you can share?

I also want to say THANK YOU to David and Tammy Sloan of Road Killer Kustoms. They made the P/T event was a huge success! They are good people and great friends. Also Bob Johnson for getting us in to see Milton's toy box.......not sure why we had to use the window :hmm:........and for letting us invade his place and being good enough to feed us a wonderful barbeque dinner. I want to thank the folks at Year One for allowing us to have a P/T get together within their show and being gracious hosts.
Last, but certainly not least, the man that made it all possible, Mr. Larry Callahan! :thankyou: :1st: (you sure this check is good?) Really, because of this website, I have had more fun, met more great people, and spent more money than I ever would or should have!
You guys rock!! :git:

David and Tammy did a fantastic job of putting it all together. We had the best observation location at the track and it was fun to watch friends make laps. Stacy and Kyle were there in their 69 and trust me, they were putting it through its paces. Thanks so much for the hard work David and Tammy. Now, start planning for next year, it will have to be something else to top this one.....lol

Milton Robinson, three miles from Road Atlanta. Pictures do not do the place justice. Can you say 3 miles of driveway? covered bridge and two main highway enterances?

You too, great to finally get to see you. Congratulations too on the killer work on the chevyII. I loved the interior and thought it fit the car very nicely. My goal is to have you do my next interior. Put me in line now, so you can be ready by the time I am, I am sure your phone is going to be ringing off the hook and I want to beat the crowd. :twothumbs

It was good to see all of you at Year One and here at our house. My wife and I appreciate everyone's gratitude and hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did. We need to thank Milton Robson for making his facility available, and Joe Steinmetz for opening it for our group. Milton is very gracious in letting people tour his over the top collection. Joe isn't a part of this group but still took his personal time to allow us to enjoy ourselves. Everyone already thanked my wife and myself and we were honored to have you. We hope everyone will have fond memories of this occasion (as we will
except for the show part).. lol ...not really sure if the Cuda even got judged..they had us parked on the other side of the drive and not with the other cars being judged, and we never saw anyone come over to judge it.. congrats to SN 65, Jack Jenkins, and the Nova owner. For someone to win, somebody's got to lose..

It was WAY too much fun to miss. I'm serious.....no overstating. This weekend was the most fun I have EVER had at a car related event.

I didn't get there until 1:00 pm today and it was over!:hammer: :hammer:
I live 30 miles away and it rained until 5:00pm Saturday, I get the wife and kids loaded up to go see some awesome cars, but we were SOL.:pat: No BJ Cuda, no Billy Goat, no old Mustang Frankenstiened to a new Mustang, no freakin' Prodigy Camaro(actually, it was goin' up the hill as we were goin' down the hill in the shuttle bus), no clowns from PT.com, not Jack *****! I've seen more cars at the Sonic! I was a day late for the prom.:crying:
I guess I'll take the POS Rustang to the Mitty at Road Atlanta Saturday, and sit under a tree by myself.:ripped:

I just got home about an hour ago. I really enjoyed meeting everyone. Bob thanks again for your hospitality. You are indeed a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks also to Tammy and David for their efforts and hooking me up with a room. I'm a bit groggy from my 500 mile drive, but the Tempest made it without a bump at 80 plus all the way. In my book the G force Cuda was the class of the field.
Hope to see you all again soon.

You are so right Mike and so is Bob. I was thinking last night before I went to bed, the winner of the cup, while a nice car, I doubt it gets driven much. I still could hear the music in my ears though of the cuda leaving Milton's place. One of the nicest cars on the planet, and we get to witness the owner doing with it what it was designed to do, wear it out.
Bob told me today that he put more miles on it this morning and it was the best driving/handling car he has driven. Just think about that, what an accomplishment for him and Alan. The only person Bob has to impress is Bob, and it looks like he has done one hell of a job doing just that.
Regardless of the reason it was omitted from the program, Year One has dropped the ball here. We witnessed a case of politics at its worst this weekend, but for anyone who has seen the cuda, we know who the true best of show was.

What a weekend. I finally made it home and my head is still buzzing. I have WAY too many people to thank in my current state. I will post all the pictures I have tomorrow night.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who helped out and set this whole thing up... David, Tammy, Bob, Milton, Bill and on and on and on.... Next year I will plan a few more days.

I'm wiped and heading to bed. Thanks again everyone and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

I also want to thank Bob for such a swell time for having such a big gathering at his home. He's the real deal. (but not the REAL BJ. I found the REAL as he beat me in the Camaro class, but wow, what an awesome car to come in second to). And also thank you Bill H. for the directions to Miltons over the phone. I'm so glad I got to see that place. I too had seen an article somewhere about it, but never knew where it was. Thanks again Bob for setting that up. The Camaro racked up a little over 400 miles with only a RR blowout at about 80 right after we left Sunday afternoon. Luckily we had a spare and a jack. Nothing gets your attention like changing a tire on the side of the interstate. I didnt meet all who I intended to, but met a few anyway. Just an awesome weekend. Larry Callahan, thank you so much for this site.

There simply aren't enough words to describe the Year One Experience.
So much happened over this weekend that I can't even properly describe it to anyone that wasn't there. I am still so excited about it, I am scatterbrained. To any lurkers, registered users, or members out there that did not attend, you have got to go next year ! There is no other event on Earth that encompasses every aspect of the automotive enthusiast like this. The level of activity and entertainment is astounding.

But anyway this thread is all about THANKS.

I just wanna say thanks to:

David and Tammy Sloan of Road Killer Kustoms for putting this together.
You guys have been friends to me for 20 years and I hope for always.

Bob Johnson for his gracious generosity. And thanks for taking us on a tour of Miltons Place.( By the way,I found my Wife's cellphone ).
If you're ever in Euharlee come by and see us.

Larry Calahan. Thanks for this site ! And all the support. It was nice to meet you. And I still want a shirt and maybe a tag.

Bill Howell. Your Goat is beautiful. I was almost born in the front seat of a 66 GTO tripower convertible. I was a premi baby. Maybe thats the problem with me. By the way thanks for the help with the cellphone. We found it by the seat leg in my car when we got home. I looked there twice and even called the phone from inside the car and never heard it ring. I feel like a real flake for having you and Bob hunting for an outdated phone. But thanks very much. See you at the Pigeon Forge Event.

Jim Grayson. For the extra ticket for some Parade Laps. You are very generous. And for having breakfast with me and my wife. How is your pump?

BTW, it was nice to meet Kyle and Stacy Tucker from Detroit Speed. They really know suspension technology. Their camaro test car really handled superbley.(Did I spell that right?). The track time at the end of Sunday was incredible ! Just seeing David Sloans 69 Camaro and everything else from a Cadillac CTS-V to a Porsche to a Mustang running flat out on the track was great!

I snapped a TON of photos this weekend, and will try to get them uploaded tonight. It was good to meet several of you, and the Year One show was awesome as usual.

I also helped PHR shoot the Detroit Speed '69, it was nice chatting with Kyle and Stacy. That feature is going to look NICE.

Bob, I thought your 'cuda was the best car at the show, but I also know how the Year One group votes/judges. They don't always pick the "best" car, they tend to pick cars that your average joe could build in his garage. Most of their past winners were home built cars, not pro shop built. I guess its a nice trophy for the little guy, while the Riddler is for the big guns.
