The Brevard County Sheriff's Office wants to find the owner of the sports car found abandoned in the northern part of the county last week.
A deputy recovered the abandoned 1958 or 1959 Corvette on Feb. 15 in the area of Interstate 95 and State Road 5A in Scottsmoor, said sheriff's spokesman Andrew Walters.
The sheriff’s auto theft agents are requesting assistance from the public in identifying the vehicle’s owner.
"Due to the vehicle’s unique characteristics, sheriff’s agents have not been able to identify the vehicle’s registered owner," Walters said in a statement.

Oh, oh...that was me. I was drunk and forgot where I left it. I’ll gladly take the DUI in exchange for my car back.

Don't be fooled guys, I bet money they know who owns it. It is a way to get them to come for a visit. Probably turn into a long visit. I have seen them send letters saying someone had won money, then when the fool shows up, bam, a warrent is the prize. :bsjerk:

How many of you are counting the days until it will be for sale at the police auction at the impound yard?
I'm with Bill on how the owner knows damn well where it is,at least the last owner. Maybe the original owner who had it stolen years ago might remember it was his car but the current owner may have found it to be better to ditch it by the side of the road rather than be an accessory to it. Probably just got done doing one of those title searches and found out he bought a stolen car.
Time will tell !

Not BS, belonged to a Dr. down south WPalm Beach area, he took the family to Disney, came home and the garage was open, thought some one was playing a joke on him, he's basically wrote the car off, the took the engine and tranny, left the after market wheels, Article in todays FL Today, the VIN is on the frame under the body, you have to loosen the body to get the number, I was at Eckler's Wednesday, they told me where the numbers are,
